Fictionary

! - used to shorten the description of the character/setting in the fic:
future!Dean, future!Cas...past!Dean, past!Cas. wing!fic. vessel!fic. future!fic.

AU - Alternate Universe. Events in the story stray from that of the show. Usually this is when an author will deny a character's death, act like an episode never happened...say "what if" an episode had happened differently, or they will act like the show stopped a certain place and keep writing as if there are no new episodes after that.

Canon - When the story expressly follows events from the show. Meaning, everything, person, event, statement, that happens in the show, movie, or book is canon.

Crack - crack!fic is identified by its absurd, surprising, or ridiculous premise.

Fanon - Things that are not strictly canon, but do not contradict it and are widely accepted by most fans.

Fluff - A light fiction which is usually just a day-in-the-life piece that is cute and humorous.

H/C - Hurt Comfort. In which a character is put through a traumatizing experience in order to be comforted.

Het - M/F; a subgenre classifying a romance and/or sexually explicit story which has as its main focus a heterosexual relationship.

Kripked - A term that refers to a fanfic made compatible with canon by later changes to the canon postdating the authorship of the fiction. (Creator, Eric Kripke)
Non-Con - Non concentual sex between the characters. (I tend to stay away from this but with the whole demon aspect of the show and newly-introduced future!Dean...it does happen.

NSFW - acronym: not safe for work, as in incredibly sexual and extremely inappropriate; mostly used for fanart.

Mpreg - Male pregnancy.

OC - Original Character. Any character created by the author.

OFC - Original Female Character.

OMC - Original Male Character.

Oneshot - consists of only one chapter and/or is first published in its completed form
OOC - Out of Character. When a character acts in such a way as to be totally contrary to what they would in the series.

OTP - One True Pair.

Pairing - The selection of characters that are in a relationship together.

Pre-slash - A story which is not strictly adult or strictly about a homosexual relationship but which introduces the possibilities, situations, and circumstances for one to occur.

Pre-series - A story which is about events occurring before the series began.

PWP - Porn Without Plot or Plot, What Plot? This fic contains no other action than an overt sexual act between the characters.

Ship - A particular relationship in a serie
Slash - M/M; fic exclusively dealing in homosexual relationships.

Spoiler - Anything that gives away parts of an episodes.

UST - Unresolved Sexual Tension. This is a term referring to interactions between characters that aren't expressly sexual but have sexual undertones.
Wing!fic - concentrates on the character's wing; usually Cas, sometimes Dean...

Whump- Used to describe physical and/or mental abuse laid on a character in a story.
I have been in love with this show since the day it began and here I can share that passion with both those I've converted and friends I've found along the way. Basically anything and everything I find is posted here...including my own thoughts and opinions in picspam episode recaps and random fan freak-out as they come. It should also be noted that I am a huge Dean/Cas fan and tend to rec favorites fics, twice monthly, it's insane. Enjoy! ~kel
